Honestly, being in the Sangmu (Sports Unit) is already a huge military service privilege lol

Other professional roles have to serve for over 3 years, whereas for some positions, they just receive basic training and then serve in roles that are much more comfortable than regular soldiers by utilizing their expertise.
Doctors: "I want to serve while practicing medicine" -> Military Doctor, 38 months
Lawyers: "I want to serve while handling legal affairs" -> Military Legal Officer, 38 months
Scientists: "I want to serve while conducting research" -> Technical Research Personnel, 3 years +@
Sangmu -> 18 months
This alone makes no sense lol
If they are at a national team level, they could easily get into the Sangmu, so wouldn't letting them spend just 18 months exercising be sufficient compensation for national-level athletes?
