Deep Water Review
After Odyssey,
this is the 4th film in the series:
Let the Cat Go, Race Trip, Purgatory,
and
Deep Water.
I am the type of person who relentlessly criticizes things I don't like.
The three films above are such failures they aren't even worth watching.
Deep Water is at least more watchable than those three.
It is a mass of predictable clichés, a feast of childish and cringey scenes and dialogue,
but it was still made with a decent sense of tension.
If you haven't watched this kind of stuff in a while and are "ready" for it, this movie is somewhat tolerable.
However, there is one problem: the shark is portrayed as such a pushover. It doesn't feel like Jaws or Megalodon; it feels like just a regular fish.
I'd give it about a 5 out of 10, but if Harvey Dent showed up and told me to give more points because he worked hard, maybe I could go up to a 6?
