Many people seem optimistic about nominal GDP moving forward, but I am pessimistic
Everyone knows that the surge in nominal GDP is due to the spike in semiconductor prices
But I think everyone also knows that these prices cannot remain at this level indefinitely
Since it is not a case of real GDP output increasing significantly
If semiconductor prices fall, there is a very high possibility that nominal GDP will experience negative growth. Much like Japan during its previous bubble era
The real GDP growth rate is a more sustainable figure than nominal GDP, which is why it is much more important
After Japan's bubble burst, even though real GDP grew slightly, due to the decline in exchange rates and nominal values
Even if real GDP grew bit by bit
GDP per capita stagnated from 50,000 until now
I believe Korea's structure is such that if it rises steadily and then semiconductor prices collapse, nominal GDP will inevitably follow suit
I don't see this as continuous, healthy growth
