The Yeoksam-dong arsonist reportedly tried to commit the same crime four years ago

‌[Exclusive] SBS News has exclusively obtained CCTV footage of the first arson attempt in the 'Yeoksam-dong serial arson' case. SBS has secured footage showing Mr. Lee, a man in his 70s who was arrested for setting fire to two buildings in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, on the 20th and causing injuries.
Arsonist says "to scare them"... Survivors say "he tried to kill us" SBS News. A serial arsonist in his 70s, who injured 19 people by setting fire to two buildings, has been arrested. While he repeatedly claimed he did it to "let the world know" or "to scare people," the victims unanimously stated that it was "an attempt to kill them."
However, the prosecution intends to apply charges for arson of an existing structure rather than attempted murder.
The victimized patent law firm and the victims' side are protesting strongly, but if this is handed over to the prosecution as is,
it might end without even a supplementary investigation...
