Something unpleasant happened at the hair salon

I had a fight with my wife and went to the hair salon after work, so I was extremely exhausted.
My expression was blank, and as the hairstylist was cutting my hair, they kept laughing, saying, "You look so tired, hahaha." So I replied, "I've had some bad news," and went back to getting my hair washed and sitting down, but then they looked at my face again and laughed even harder, saying, "You really do look exhausted, hahahaha..."
At the time, I just felt bad, wondering if my expression was really that bad.
But after coming home and thinking about it, the more I think, the worse I feel.
It's not like I went there to cater to the hairstylist's mood (I wasn't even a regular); I went there to get a haircut. I don't understand why my expression matters so much or why I have to become the object of their laughter.
Am I being too sensitive?
