What are your thoughts on Harry Kane winning the Ballon d'Or?

I personally believe Harry Kane fully deserved it, but it makes me wonder if there were really that few candidates this year. It felt like every single one of them was missing at least two screws, and Harry Kane won simply because he was the one with the fewest screws missing. Usually, when the World Cup overlaps, the Ballon d'Or goes to a player from either the winning World Cup nation or the Champions League winning team; it makes me wonder just how lacking in candidates the field truly was.
