Korea must commit itself to hosting the Asian Games and the Olympics

‌People saying those kinds of events are a waste of money or unnecessary—only countries like the UK, France, Germany, Japan, or at least Italy can afford to just half-heartedly host them.
Korea still needs to work harder and strive more for these events. Since the only thing that remains is the record, we should try to take more advantage of the home advantage.
I hope we push ourselves a bit more until we reach around 1,000 cumulative gold medals in the Asian Games.
Do you know how restless and loud the Taiwanese people—who claim to have fiscal soundness—get because they can't host such events?
After hosting the World Games just once in 2009 (which gathers sports not adopted in the Olympics), they even named a subway station after it.
Strangely, conservatives in other countries seem to like those kinds of events.
It seems like only in Korea do the self-proclaimed conservatives dislike them.
