France is actually quite poor compared to the rest of Western Europe

Of course, compared to the rest of the world, it is obviously a wealthy nation,
but if you limit it to Western Europe, it holds a somewhat shabby and poor position.
Even if you just look at photos of prisons in different countries,
Germany and Northern Europe have such clean and well-run facilities that it's hard to believe they are prisons,
but France's environment is uniquely old and disastrous lol.
Even if you watch interviews regarding the actual take-home pay of ordinary citizens,
the difference between France and Korea is so shocking that there is almost none...
They are often grouped together as the UK, France, and Germany,
but France's standard of living is much lower than Germany's more than one might think..
Yet, even Germany is just about average within Western Europe.
Countries like Switzerland, Luxembourg, and Norway—most of their citizens are truly wealthy.
