To make it to the NBA, shouldn't Lee Hyun-jung perform better than a KBL import player?

‌I know Lee Hyun-jung's skill level is impressive, but
if he were to sign a contract as a KBL import player,
would there be any team that would choose to sign Lee Hyun-jung instead of a foreign player?
I feel like he needs to be at least better than the average KBL import player to make it to the NBA—even if he can't beat top-tier players like Schindler.
Do you think Lee Hyun-jung's current skill level is on par with the average KBL import player?
