Memories of buying my first home

After living in a rental for four years during my newlywed years, I decided to purchase a home.
Seeing the market price of our rental home rise by 100 million won over those four years, I was determined to buy.
One family member strongly advised against it, claiming real estate prices would drop, so after much deliberation, I chose a distant neighborhood where I felt the value would be most stable.
At that time, the Park Geun-hye administration was encouraging home purchases, so getting a loan was very easy.
Anyway, I bought my first home. I visited the property to check the interior while a tenant was still living there...
The tenant asked, "How much did you buy it for?"
I replied, "I bought it for N hundred million won."
She just snorted and said, "You actually paid that much for this?"
It was truly absurd. There was even a drawing in that house that children had put up saying, "Our Happy Home."
That tenant moved to another rental in a different part of the neighborhood once we moved in.
Since then, whenever property prices rose, I found myself thinking of that woman.
She probably won't be able to buy a house for the rest of her life because of that resentment. It was over a decade ago, and prices in that neighborhood have increased about three times since then.
