I feel like the talk of "2 million vs 3 million won salaries" is ruining the country.
Of course, it would be great to receive a starting salary of 45 million or 50 million won.
It would also be great if you could enjoy welfare benefits and work-life balance.
But realistically, how many such jobs actually exist?
It wouldn't matter if anyone could just walk into Samsung Electronics or Hyundai Motor,
but lately, it feels like people are being far too picky about jobs.
"It must be a 5-day work week."
"It can't be far from Seoul."
"The boss shouldn't ask for personal errands."
"Asking for overtime or special shifts makes it a 'black company' (exploitative company)."
"What can you even do with a 3 million won monthly salary?"
By excluding all these conditions
and then looking down on the people working in such jobs,
the number of "resting" youth continues to rise.
That doesn't mean those young people
are working themselves to death to get into Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, or Hyundai Motor.
They are simply busy mocking and ridiculing those who work hard for 2.5 million won a month
while only busy cursing out unscrupulous bosses.
That damn SNS,
that damn Instagram,
that damn constant comparison is what ruins lives.
If you work hard wherever you are, paths will open up.
And if you try making coffee or doing personal errands for a boss, you'll realize it's nothing.
Do you think it's easy to earn other people's money?
Do you think you won't face gut-wrenching stress if you become a boss and run your own business?
If work is busy, you can work some overtime.
So what?
If you hate that, then graduate from a prestigious university, build up your credentials, and go join a large corporation where all those conditions are met.
