Personally, I'm conflicted about Park Chung-hee...

Looking at it strictly from a historical perspective, without any personal connection,
personally, I find Park Chung-hee to be a complicated figure.
I researched this back in university,
and it varied depending on the perspective of the department.
In the College of Law, he was seen as the worst president,
while in the College of Business/Economics, he was seen as the best.
To put it simply, depending on the era, if a citizen was harmed by Park Chung-hee,
he was the worst, but if a citizen benefited economically, he could be the best.
Personally, I also think Park Chung-hee was a bad man,
but for the sake of the conveniences I enjoy today, he
cannot be viewed as purely evil.
The most tragic case is the female college student who was killed by a stray bullet
while attending the funeral of Yuk Young-soo.
She is the most pitiful.
But no matter how I look at it, I honestly don't understand
why Park Chung-hee is considered good enough to have a statue built of him.
