But when stock prices drop because earnings are about to plummet and a recession is coming, everyone goes quiet, saying, "Ah, it's just a cyclical industry..."
Wait... but then they earn 100 trillion in the next quarter, and people keep saying a recession is coming... but then they earn another 100 trillion the next quarter, and again, and again... lol. It would be pure bliss if they just provided moderate shareholder returns and lived like that.
