I can see why Hong Myung-bo wanted to change the captain

During the squad announcement press conference on the 25th of last month, Coach Hong drew attention when asked about the possibility of changing the captain. He replied, "I am continuously thinking about that matter," adding, "Whatever choice is made is a crucial moment for both the individual and the team. I haven't made a decision yet, but I believe I must continue to deliberate for the sake of the team."
It seems like the issue of changing the captain has been internal for some time.
