Do you split the bill with your friends? (Among guys)

My group of friends has never split the bill (N-bang) even once.
I'm starting to wonder if this is strange.
If someone traveled from far away, they usually don't pay. Instead, we'd cover their designated driver fee.
If one friend pays this time, I'll pay next time.
One of my friends is going through some financial difficulties, so we let him pay for the cheaper items or show him some consideration.
We've been living like this for almost 30 years now, haha.
Is this weird?
It seems like splitting the bill is the standard these days.
I'm just wondering if we are the odd ones out.
