Predictions that AI would soon overtake translation skills have existed for a long time, yet people remain complacent

Around the mid-2010s? Actually, even much earlier than that,
it was a common consensus that translation and interpretation would be one of the first areas replaced by AI.
Despite this, even after 2020, there were still people stubbornly enrolling in graduate schools for translation and interpretation.
If they went just for a hobby or to get a degree, that's one thing...
But if they had a mindset like, "I don't care~ My professor said AI is just a bubble and the future of translation is bright!"
then it's quite a pity.
