The Incheon Samsan Police Station announced on the 27th that they arrested three Marine Corps soldiers, including "Soldier A," in the act of engaging in prostitution at an officetel in Incheon during the Chuseok holiday outing, and after investigation, handed them over to their respective unit.
According to the police, A and the others are suspected of engaging in prostitution at an officetel in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, around 2:00 PM on the same day after going on an outing from their unit on the morning of the 24th.
The police were dispatched after receiving a 112 report from a citizen suspecting prostitution at the officetel in question.
Subsequently, the three individuals, including A, who were in different rooms, were arrested in the act one by one.
The police investigated the circumstances of the prostitution and then handed the individuals over to the military authorities.
A Marine Corps official stated, "We have taken custody of the individuals from the police," and added, "We will handle the matter legally in accordance with laws and regulations after an investigation."
Meanwhile, while checking the identities of the foreign women identified at the scene, the police confirmed they were staying illegally and handed them over to the Immigration Office.
