Is it rude to wear a smartwatch into a movie theater?

Usually, people set their smartphones to vibrate before going in,
but there are still many complaints about people looking at their phones during a movie.
In that case, since a smartwatch screen flashes every time a notification pops up,
should I take it off entirely before entering?
Or is that level of consideration not really necessary?
