Current status of the construction of the Daegu Islamic Mosque

In Daehyeon-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu,
a plan was made to build an Islamic mosque on private land
registered under seven co-owners, including several foreign students and believers
of Pakistani and Bangladeshi nationality, as well as naturalized Koreans.
However, due to opposition from local residents, litigation has been ongoing since 2020.
Although the Muslims won the case in the Supreme Court in September 2022, actual construction has not been possible.
Currently, the Buk-gu District Office in Daegu has proposed a plan to relocate the mosque to the site of the former Daehyeon Police Box.
However, that former Daehyeon Police Box site is government land.
