Why are dogs so curious?

‌When we go for a walk, they look around everywhere
Sniffing everything and marking their territory with pee..
If they hear even a tiny sound, they get startled and look right at it
They meddle in everything happening with other people and other dogs in the neighborhood lol
Sometimes they even bark lol
