Following news that the People Power Party has narrowed down the candidates for the Minister of Justice position—vacant after the fall of former candidate Kim Seung-won—to Democratic Party members Park Kyun-taek (first-term, Gwangju Gwangsan-gap, Jeonnam) and Yang Bu-nam (first-term, Gwangju Seo-gu-eul), who both served as Chief Prosecutors, the opposition questioned on the 25th, "Is the Ministry of Justice a private law firm managing the President's judicial risks?"
Choi Eun-seok, the People Power Party's Senior Floor Spokesperson, stated in a commentary, "I cannot help but ask whether they are looking for a suitable person to be responsible for the legal administration of the Republic of Korea, or a person to complete the President's mission of 'erasing his own crimes'." He continued, "What on earth are the selection criteria for the Minister of Justice under the Lee Jae-myung administration?
