Sudden unintended acceleration is likely a pedal misapplication accident.

Everyone says otherwise, but I have also misapplied the pedals while parking. Since I am not elderly, I realized my mistake immediately and switched pedals. It wasn't particularly dangerous because I was in a rural area where it wasn't crowded, there were no people around, and I was reversing.
After experiencing that, I thought, "Ah, this is why sudden unintended acceleration happens." If this situation occurs when someone is older, their reaction speed slows down, which leads to even more dangerous situations, causing more panic, and creating a vicious cycle.
Looking at elderly drivers, they often fail to stay in their lanes, drive too slowly, or forget to use turn signals, so it is hardly surprising that they misapply the pedals.
