This is often the case with hotels located near hot springs.
Around the Soyoko area, there are still quite a few hotels that use keys, so I always have to leave my key at the front desk when going to the hot springs.
The keys are also quite large, making them surprisingly cumbersome to carry around when going to the hot springs or for breakfast.
