Some people talk about marriage as if it's like walking into the gates of hell

‌I've noticed more and more people saying things like that lately.
But I can't help but think...
aren't they being a bit too fearful prematurely?
Of course, there is a risk of ruining your life
if you meet someone truly toxic like the ones you see on TV,
but many people live very happy lives.
I think it's just that those people's lives look too peaceful,
so they don't get featured on TV;
there are likely many who are living quietly and well.
They say one in three couples gets divorced?
That means two out of three are living their lives quite well in their own small ways.
It feels like more people are simply refusing to even try altogether.
