[[Made in Korea 2] Are the Naver comments defending Baek Ki-tae's drug business just because it's "for his family" insane?]
First, let me clarify that this is not a criticism of the drama's content itself, but a criticism of the viewers' reactions.
In fact, the premise of a high-ranking official from the KCIA secretly running a drug business would have previously sparked controversies regarding historical distortion or national disparagement, but perhaps because many viewers prefer to view dramas simply as dramas, it doesn't seem to be causing much controversy.
Personally, looking at actual history, I don't think it's an entirely implausible setting.
However, the problem lies in the viewer reactions that become so immersed in the protagonist, Baek Ki-tae, that they justify every single action he takes. No matter how you look at it, you can't say it was a good decision to entrust the financial management of a drug factory to his younger sister.
Of course, Baek Ki-tae's intention was for her to only manage the money and stay away from the drugs, but since the company itself is a drug company, that's obviously impossible.
To any ordinary person, the outcome is predictable, yet Baek Ki-tae insists he did nothing wrong, and viewers immersed in his character unconditionally take his side. Is this really a normal reaction?
