What if Jung-hoo Lee had entered the Major Leagues in the 90s?

Back then, concepts like OPS or wRC+ were scarce, and players were recognized based solely on batting average. Since defensive metrics weren't analyzed like they are now, wouldn't his "great defensive plays" have been even more highly regarded?
I imagine he would have accumulated a significant number of hits and years of experience while playing as a center fielder.
