Trump's madness is somewhat understandable

The US and its allies vs. China and its allies; Blue Team vs. Red Team.
Currently, America's strongest rival is China.
It is similar to the old US-Soviet Cold War era, but there is a difference: because of globalization, they are already closely intertwined.
So, the US is trying to decouple this piece by piece, but its so-called allies aren't helping at all.
Europe, in particular, is busy playing nice with China, even though they struggle against Russia if the US isn't there to back them up.
Italy has even fully joined the Belt and Road Initiative.
Not only that, but they are importing Chinese goods, electronics, and telecommunications equipment left and right.
Even though the US has repeatedly warned them about backdoors and risks, they won't listen.
Then, when the Russia-Ukraine war broke out, they started whining about why the US isn't helping.
Even when the US provides the most funding, weapons, and asymmetric capabilities like Starlink, they keep whining.
What Europe actually wants is for the US to mobilize its military and settle things with Russia.
On top of this, countries like Canada and Mexico are openly acting as conduits for illegal immigrants, drugs, Chinese nationals, Chinese spies, and Chinese goods.
From the US perspective, it's easy to fall into the mindset of: "All these 'allies' are just sucking us dry, and not a single one of them is pulling their own weight."
South Korea has nothing to say regarding this matter either.
While Biden and the Democrats had a stance of "Let's hold hands with our allies and slowly take down China,"
Trump and the Republicans have a stance of "We don't need these allies; we're re-establishing the hierarchy."
From the US perspective, tariffs are their way of saying, "If you have a problem with it, go to China."
This is possible because China does not open up its domestic market.
The largest market is the US, and if you want to sell to the US, you have to pay the "subordinate fee."
Tariffs are the pretext; the real goal is to only play with those who bow their heads and actually cooperate with the US.
Rather than seeing this as mere Trump volatility, one should view it as the influence of the Republican hardliners who hold this stance.
Since the motto of "America should stop being the world's policeman and just focus on living well ourselves" has been a continuous ideology since the founding of the US, Trump should be seen as part of that movement.
I also view Trump or the Republicans' tendency to resort to military action in places like Venezuela, Cuba, and Iran—where economic sanctions used to be the best option—as a sign of their impatience.
Domestically, they might be running wild because they feel that if the Democrats take power again, there won't be another chance.
While the Red Team (North Korea-China-Russia-Iran, plus India and South America) is moving along smoothly, the Blue Team is neither pro-China nor pro-US, nor are they self-reliant; they are just stumbling around...
