People in Spain must really hate the Zorro animation, right?

It is an animation set in the late 18th century (the late 1700s), a time when the United States was not a superpower like it is today, but a weak nation that was invaded and lost its territory to Spain. It depicts the era of Spanish occupation.
Just as Korea experienced Japanese colonial rule starting in 1910 in the early 20th century, the United States experienced Spanish occupation in the late 1700s.
Since the story portrays Spain as the villain, people in Spain must absolutely hate the Zorro animation, right? What Spanish citizen would enjoy seeing their own country portrayed as the villain?
