As the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen expand their control over the Red Sea region, the Yemeni government forces, supported by Saudi Arabia, have launched a counterattack.
According to Yemen's state-run Saba News Agency, the government forces announced on the 12th (local time) that they destroyed Houthi vehicles and weapons near the port of Mocha and conducted three airstrikes on Houthi strongholds and barracks in the Taiz region.
In response, the Houthis claimed to have attacked a military base in Sharurah, southern Saudi Arabia, using drones and missiles.
