Jeju Island was a bit scary at night

When I was driving around in a rental car last time, once I left the airport area,
I barely saw any people unless they were at tourist attractions, and even the downtown area was very quiet.
There were many pitch-black roads without any streetlights, so it felt quite eerie.
It felt like a real remote countryside; I don't think I even saw a single city bus or taxi.
