While Trump and his inner circle are busy making a mess, it seems Bessent is at least trying to soothe things.
Bessent has already warned Canada not to mess around with government bonds regardless of the situation,
and he is saying that both sides need to find a compromise.
If Canada gets angry, they could just dump their bonds and cause mutual destruction, but that seems unlikely.
